Japan beat Samoa would be great, and USA, but no bonus points, then we could lose to both SA and Samoa (by less than 7) and we'd go through with 12 points, Japan on 12 points (because we beat them). That's right, isn't it? 12 points from 2 wins, 2 losses still beats 12 points from 3 wins, as long as you beat the team you're tied with? :-) G

C'mon HappyG, believe in that win against SA. Let's hear no talk of scraping up enough points.

Lol! I'll take any route to qualification Fetch! Most likely is to have to beat Samoa. There'd be no shame losing to a full strength SA. But it would be typical Scotland to put on a great show to hold SA close, maybe even get the BP, then lose to Samoa and be out. So I'm just wondering what kind of loss to Samoa could still get us through. :-) G

Scotland look pretty to me, of course this is entirely due to Laidlaw playing at Gloucester (The cente of the rugby universe), in case you didn't know.

Twelvetrees, where is Twelvetress wehn you need him? Oh yes, sitting at home watching Burgess.

Laidlaw is awesome. I'm old enough to remember watching his dad. I've always found it difficult with Jonny Beattie and Greg Laidlaw not to think of their dads! But Greg is fab, yes, a very smart player.

Scotland could give SA a hard time. But you never know with Scotland. Their discipline has been good, their commitment great, fitness is good, but occasional lapses in skills and execution. It only takes a few of those against SA, Aus, Eng, Wal, NZ, Ire, Fra etc. to turn into a horrible day. Or even Samoa. :-O Hopefully not tho. :-) G

If Twelvetrees is the solution, what the f$%k was the problem?

Flattered to deceive far too often.

Let's hope JJ recovers, although who for IC? barritt or Burgess?

Burgess was not the reason we lost, not by a long shot.

I'm sorry, the answer is to pick a team to wi a game, not pick a team to stop the other winning. They had the proof at the end of the last 6 nations.

Lancaster, Barritt, Burgess, Robshaw are the walking dead in terms of their international futures.

Scotland will get through. Their tails are up.

England won't, they have Lancaster and RObshaw.

Lancaster will pick Barritt. He trusts him, defensive leader and all that. Lancaster sees him as the keystone - will take the ball up and it always comes back, doesn't give away breakdown penalties (as much as some others).

Like the majority of England fans I expect, I would love to see 10/12 made up of 2 from 3 of Ford/Farrell/Slade, with JJ outside. But that's very easy to say from the armchair when my career doesn't depend on winning, somehow, anyhow, against Aus. With their backline, plus Pooper, I reckon they probably fancy their chances in a chaotic throw-it-around game much more than an arm-wrestle.

So if I was Lancaster, I'd probably go Farrell-Barritt too.

""I'm sorry, the answer is to pick a team to win a game, not pick a team to stop the other winning""

Those are the same things.
