My first reaction was great news, but on reflection I came to a similar viewpoint as TR: it's sad when you're trying your best (and I'm sure he was) and the criticism leaves you in such a bad place that you feel you need to step back. The blame should really fall on the selectors/coaches who created the situation.
I do think, however, that England will benefit from his absence.

We played a team today with 2 World Cup winners, 3 test lions, the Argentina captain, 3 other starters from Englands semi and more. We have a young team with only one player capped by England.
They left with nothing, we took a bonus point win and keep winning at home. Not sure we can get a home semi for the playoffs but if we do I would back us to win.
