Poor start for Salford, having to field a reserve side due to financial problems

I don't think they 'have to'. I think it's a rather petty snub to the RFL, and I hope they're punished for it. Very good first half in the Wigan v Leigh game, no rustiness on display. Shows you don't need a lot of scores for an enjoyable match. |

Certainly was. Last game to finish with that score was in 1979.

as salford fan i am gutted they have reserves out today. they could get slaughtered. the league have withheld permission to lift salary cap. means almost entire first team squad are excluded. seems as rfl punishing club. which may or may not be fair.

Well Hull FC look far better than last year which is a relief because this is shaping up to be a very competitive season looking at week 1 results. Although is this showing who had the best preseasons and normal service will be resumed after a couple of weeks

Big comeback for Salford? Good to see them putting in the effort in the 1st half despite the drubbing they’re getting. |

Be interesting to see the post-match interview. Fairly sure the BBC won't go with "So, Paul, in a never before seen display of unity, the entire sport thinks you're a disgrace." Kudos to the kids that played though, they did their best. I hope Mr. Rowley doesn't have to face their mums later.
