As a Saints fan, I will happily take the win and the points difference as opposed to a full strength Salford who have been a real pain over the last few years with Sneyd kicking us to death. Will be disappointing if what @Cerrertonia says is true, and not sure why if so, Salford would throw a game that was very winnable for them.

They've been spending far more money than they had coming in for some years, have had to be bailed out by the RFL and as a result are currently restricted to a salary cap of £1.2million, until they can show they're operating sustainably. Instead of doing that, Paul Rowley decided to pick the club's academy side (which I imagine counted for less than £0.2 million on the salary cap) in a rather pathetic attempt at a protest and to not name a full 17, in spite of the fact that he had players from other clubs on loan. Kudos to the Salford fans who went to the game anyway though. |
