Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I recognised those steps immediately. There are some places where paths like that zig-zag across the slope, those just go straight up.

cackleberry - there's only really the 'new' straight up option. The old path has been fenced off as it's slowly collapsing into the sea.
There seems different styles or schools of thought on SWCP path maintenance now - some areas go for the straight up with steps approach, others enforcing the zig zag. Not sure if it's geologically or ground based, or just local maintenance teams have a preference?

Fitness levels are normally key to these. I usually first 1 to 3 are normally fine, by the 5th or 6th they can get a bit wearing. But far better than the steep stony/slippery downhills.
This was the elevation for the day

I did a section a bit further north, from Woolacombe, and it felt just like that elevation profile.

That's a great photo, DoricQuine - I did a double take when I saw it, as I took an almost identical photo when we were there last summer :)
