Yeah, my number arrived on Monday also.

My training was going brilliantly in July, but after a poor couple of weeks training I don't feel my fitness is where I wanted it to be now (or indeed where it was this close to Manchester in spring). I'll see how training goes over the next couple of weeks, but I think I'll probably need to re-adjust time targets.

Does anybody know if there is any online tracking available on race-day? The race booklet only mentions results published on the website "later" on race day.

Maybe we should have a Fetch group plod around together :-)

Will there be a fetchpoint on the route?

You know what, I'm up for a plod. I'm too tired to do this properly.

I don't believe there is any tracking Nelly; I'm pretty sure there wasn't last year.

I'm both really looking forward to this now, and utterly terrified at the same time. I'm absolutely and irrationally terrified of breaking my ankle, to the point that I've refused to wear anything but trainers for the next month.

No idea what pace a fetchie plod would be, but given I'll be on the slower side I could go with a plod. I've a feeling it'll be a plod for me regardless.

I have been training at around 10 m/m and getting slower at the tail end on longer runs So, I suspect that a plod would see me coming in at around the 5 hour mark.

Good to see this thread going again.

I see that they are saying that entries close this weekend (4th Sept). Also as we noted back on page 2 the original route of the full came up as a tad short so they have added in a few hundred meters of rowing lake action after all.

Best of luck with the last few weeks of training everyone

Thanks Uyuni, I'd not seen that post on Facebook about the course adjustment due to weekend away in the Lake District, but am glad they've rectified the issue in advance (and the addition is flat) :-)

Your training seems to be building nicely towards your marathon; still hopeful of a good time in the HM?

Cheers Nelly, yes marathon training is going well as I’m actually getting some proper 20 milers in this time which will hopefully see me right in Ljubljana. Likewise for the RH I got some good PBs over shorter stuff this summer which coupled to the increased mileage should lead to a good time.

I did 1:28:24 on a tough course in the spring so hope to go under that – would love to give 1:25 a fright but that might be a bit ambitious – see what conditions are like on the day and try not to get carried away!

U - looking at the map in a bit more detail, it appears the biggest change to the route is where/how we come of the (south) embankment around the 24mile mark. It looks (from Google street-view) that we'll be skirting behind (what appears to be new, as it's not on Google satellite view) Becket School. Does your local knowledge extend to whether there is a footpath on the new section of route? Presumably we won't be running across school fields, which is all that Google satellite view seems to show is where the route is drawn.
