You do that, then go over it with a nice fountain pen...
I bought a Petzl Myo XP yesterday and have found a pack I like too - the OMM Adventurelight 20SL. Plenty of pockets and compressibilty. Getting the equipment sorted is starting to make it seem a bit more real. 85 miles still doesn't sound very real...

Amidst all this talk of head torches, I just carried an LED bike light last year. Lightweight and it doesn't dazzle people when you look at them! Smart Polaris - I think the 3 LED is better than the 5 LED.
I'm beginning to want to enter this. Got a Tri the hext week. ...

I just found out about the Ridgeway 40. It's on 9th May and I've entered as it looks like a good way to recce some of the route for the 85. I think it might be in the opposite direction though, but I haven't really looked in detail yet...
Anyone else fancy this? It's the day before Halstead Marathon so it will be my biggest training weekend so far.

yeah it is in the opposite direction. it's the bit you are likely to do in the dark so it's more a recce of the terrain than a recce of the navigation unless you have one of those backwards-photographic memories

Ooh, I want a backwards-photographic memory please!
Still, a recce of sorts will be good for making me feel confident...

Very tempted with it though it does sort of screw up chances of any sort of time at halstead
