buy.garmin.com Now if you could just work out how to load routes onto it and get it to direct you, then explain it to me in very basic language, that'd be great thanks |

Interesting. Didn't know about the 605 and 705. Was thinking about the 205 and 305 which look more like biking equivalents of the forerunners.

My OH has the 705 for cycling. It's smaller than the edge but costs a fair bit more. It looks like it would do the job nicely though. It finds the satellites even under trees and indoors which the etrex type didn't used to do. Does anyone know if they've got better in the last few years? I strongly expect there to be trees on trail routes!

I have walked the Ridgeway a couple of times before but I have never considered running it all in one go. Now I am seriously tempted to give it a go. I think I could manage this one without going wrong. Can someone tell me how much it is to enter and do I need to get my entry in soon? |

leysrunner - its about £35. don't think it's one that fills up - certainly not too soon (famous last words). Click on the Aug 29 link above right and then on to the TRA website.

Thanks Nightjar- I am still a learner on this machine. I will look into this one as I am not far from the Ridgeway. |

Hey Leysrunner, after I saw how smooth and comfortable you looked at the Thames Trot, I reckon you could breeze through this! Hope to see you there...
