Rest day guilt..... anyone else get this? I am literally forcing myself to do nothing tonight and I hate it. On another note. I am looking for some cheap (read: free) cross-training ideas. I resent paying for a gym membership just to use some cardio equipment twice a week. Any ideas? Sorry but swimming is not an option. LN |

Shred or another DVD? Pretty cheap Classes? (usually about £4-5 but you pay as you go), bootcamp in local parks seem pretty common, there are some good videos on the core training thread, depends what you like and what you're looking for really. Personally I love classes and my gym membership is worth it from that aspect alone.

Yep I'm having a rest day nightmare too - this time I really am tired though. Try looking at another sport to help cross train - cycle, walk, weights, core? |

Lol Foxy, tou TiT! I tend to make my training rest days, work days as I do long shifts (12'5hrs) and with travel to and from I don't have to struggle quite as much not to do something. That said I have known to be in the pool or 'shredded' before a 7:30 start if I have a run of shifts together |

I do classes as cross training, don't even touch the gym as I get all my core, weights and cardio between the classes and my outdoor running. Cross training needs to feel enjoyable or you won't do it.

Shred- this is L1 on you tube Shred Thread- http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=48651 It only takes 25-30 mins. I skip the warm up if I've run or biked 1st. It's the only thing that has got me consistently doing core/tone/strength stuff If you lurk on the thread you'll see that some of us have 'branched' into other of her DVD's. Fetch kindly gave us a X-train-Shred option sometime ago. |
