Can understand that, WP. The only TV coverage I could get was a highlights programme on the Quest channel and to be honest (in my opinion) there was too much talk from the commentators and not enough footage from the actual race.

We found the highlights difficult to follow as there was rarely a round up of where they were or who was leading. Sometimes it would jump from 25 to 5km to go and there was no way to realise except the captions. Really makes you appreciate the skill of Ned and David

Eurosport/Discovery doesn't feel optimally set up for highlights. They're trying to quickly create packages that sort of work in about a dozen languages from complete coverage (that's always been their main focus) and multiple races on the same day. I also expect their available production funds are a lot lower per race.
They're aiming for something different to ITV, and it can show if you're not used to it. Though I gather that they are a league above most US coverage, from the rants you hear about NBC.

I really like the live Discovery coverage - no ad breaks is a clear advantage for me. But the coverage of the Vuelta from the motorbikes on occasion made me feel sea sick (not Discovery’s fault, but I didn’t get it this bad in TdF), as it seemed the camera wasn’t cut away from soon enough.
But I can’t stand Adam Blythe in the studio. He comes across to me as wanting some story to be about him, and him and Orla seem to disagree quite a lot!

Lantern Rouge on YouTube does quite a good concise 10 minute round up of races if you don't fancy the highlights.

Saw a dude out riding in full Groupama FDJ kit yesterday, turns out it was Lewis Askey down here for the Ironman 70.3 today (he won).
