rouleur.cc Quite entertaining to read this with hindsight! Only stumbled on it as I was looking for something which confirmed who was expected to be the lead rider in the Vuelta when TJV set out their plans early in the year. All my google-fu has been able to find is statements about JV for the Tour and PR for the Giro, and then later when JV was confirmed for the Vuelta post-Tour (to ride in an "unspecified" role). |

Jumbo are having quite the tour. Just seen the footage of one of their staff who was with Jonas V at the finish pushing a Spanish police officer. Message to Jumbo Visma staff "Don't push Police officers!". Not rocket science. Didn't end well, although I believe that he wasn't arrested, but he ended up on the ground, and then was "escorted" away by the scruff of his neck. By eck, it's all happening at the Vuelta. |

So it's the break for the win today. Was hoping for a GC win as would have been an interesting stage but for Jumbo I guess it's best not to risk any accidents.

All smiles and bonhomie (maybe). We'll never know what they were really feeling. But I'm so pleased for Kuss. He deserves it. |

Caught up with the Watts Occurring chat about the situation. Really interesting to hear from inside the peloton and from riders where similar situations have occurred, but with less fanfare etc. The points about JVs winning day, where PR and SK played by the "rules" and didn't chase him down were noteworthy I thought.

Lol. Nah they're fine, I think we can all allow for a couple of stages were people were conflicted after the race changed from what they were expecting especially with the team management not saying back Kuss. Obviously the behind the scenes would be interesting to see. Will be interesting to see whether anything changes for Kuss now. Will he want more GC races in GT and week long races? One thing's for sure, it will be hard for him to get into the break again in a high level race. |
