It does look a shorter after line finish than normal, but he could have braked sooner too.

Fair comment about ASO vs Vuelta. And I may have got the heli wrong too as I think I assumed the search I did (helicopter remco) on twitter brought me recent results, but that heli issue was Giro!

Well my cheapest sprinter possible got third there. Not sure how much Molano is who finished second. Couple of crashes in the last few kms.

Gobi I wasn't blaming the soigneur for the crash (and often standing still can be the better thing to do in this sort of situation), more surprised how little attention she was paying to the finish

I've added a Vuelta stage by stage one page guide by Cyclist in the links. Looks Inrng didn't do one this year so removed that link.

Thanks for that, really useful as I usually have the magazine for TdF!

When you’re used to following TdF the Vuelta is weird! I’m used to the two lots of three days in the Alps and Pyrenees. This jumps about all over the place and goes back for the Tourmalet, and just seems to have lots of hills!

Meglet perhaps ungenerous but for me the vuelta always has an air of unpreparedness and amateurism about the organisation, the parcours design and the safety aspects of the race.

The Mussile probably very relaxed because they do it all the time

That's certainly true of the first few stages this year.
