Cardiac arrest I note, the curse of long distance runners and cyclists it seems too. Would welcome more research into this, while uncommon, it's still far too common.

And bad luck Fred Wright today, so close to winning the stage (4 seconds), so close to getting the red jersey (2 seconds). Outstanding talent, and his first big success really cannot be too far away.

It's horribly tragic and far too common. Charities like CRY (cardiac risk in the young) try to promote research and screening, but sadly it still happens unpleasantly often.

It’s more common than you think. I follow an American eye surgeon on Twitter who’s life was saved by his wife doing CPR, even though she had little prior training. He must be a similar age.

Sad news. Is this more common in athletes or do we hear about it more when it happens in athletes? |

SPR This briefly discusses it. c-r-y.org.uk My understanding is that whilst high level activity generally improves cardiac outcomes, if there are certain undiagnosed conditions, such high level activity can increase the likelihood of these conditions becoming fatal.

That makes sense MM so not more prevalent but greater risk with activity.

Roglic not going well here. If it's the back, it won't improve, if form then there's still a chance in the final week.
