There is a good reason why running on your fore foot can increas metatarsal pain. the forgdfoot needs to splay and if the shoe does not allow that the soft tissues around the foot get squashed.

Interesting what you've said CT. Shoes kill my feet on long runs. Think bunions have a part in this (not allowing foot to splay). That's why I prefer to run in sandals when I can. UD couldn't book b4 Easter and it feels a bit better from having rested!!! Maybe rest is the answer all the way to the 27th April (booked into a marathon)

The issue is that if nerves get squashed, they can take a while to stop hurting

*steps in together with UD* - so the healing of nerve damage can be promoted with vit B and vit D? But if nerves are being damaged could that also indicate thinning fat pad?
BVR - just bought myself a pair of shoes with a big toe box - I've sold out to a pair of more padded shoes (k-swiss). Giving the minimalist shoes a rest.

Stubbed my little toe tripping over daughters tiny Pom. It's swelled up and very bruised. Could it be broken? and what treatment can I give it?
