I also think an exit poll like the one we get in the UK would be staggering expensive to produce in the US in order to get a clear representative idea of the nationwide result in all states. Even the one here is shared between the BBC, ITV, C4 and sky. |

It's therefore simply easier and cheaper to wait for results to come out in each county and compare to previous elections.
