You can't say with any degree of certainty who it is good for, but it is certainly consequential. That's simply because Nevada has automatic voter registration and unless you specifically state a party affiliation, you're down as non-partisan. So the fact that there are lots of independents is unsurprising |

Trump talking about cheating in Pennsylvania, first big sign things aren't going his way. Giuliani also moaning. Exit poll says 36% (number 1) say state of democracy is primary concern. 6 out of 10 Harris voters rate this as their number 1 concern. Economy second (31%), which 5 out of 10 Trump voters say is their number 1 concern. Then abortion 3rd (16%) and immigration 4th (11%). As one pundit put it, Trump's figures are competitive certainly but without looking like he's got something necessary to start winning it. |

Chrisull wrote: Sam Freedman "US exit polls are basically useless". Lol Yeah but they don't need them in the same way. Because in the US votes are counted and reported by each county. So unless super tight, the US networks can project winners quite early on. Whereas in the UK all the votes are taken to the LA/constituency counting places and results only announced on a constituency level. |

Other issue with exit polls in the US is that not every state finishes polling at the same time. In the UK polls close at a highly set time and the exit poll results sealed until that time In the US exit polls might affect results in later finishing states. |

How big is a "county" in US election terms, compared to a UK constituency?

They're not comparable I don't think. I'm sure some have millions, some as little as about 12 1/2 people. But someone else will either correct me or explain what a county is exactly.
