Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

For the first time in my life, I've placed a bet at a bookies! A mere £25 on Kamala Harris to win the presidency, at 7/5. Means I get £60 back if she does, and means I'll be doubly pissed off if she doesn't.

And if I lose my £25 I'm going to blame you, @paulcook, for putting the idea in my head!

Haha!

It's value no doubt given all the other polls. It just depends if you believe the adage that "you can't eat value". Good luck!!!

Interestingly the final 538 model seems to have (just narrowly) flipped from making trump v narrow favourite to Harris being v narrow favourite because of some late polling in Michigan which looks a little better than it had been for Harris.

I haven't looked in detail but have seen it said that the 538 meta-analyses are biased by including some obviously bogus pro-republican polls. I suppose it depends whether you believe there are equivalently bogus pro-democrat polls in there.

I caught up this morning over breakfast and was pleased with 5 scored. Kicked myself for a few missed points though.

The first results 3-3 do 1) echo the 2012 tied Obama result and 2) this time around there were only 4 republicans and 2 indies registered. So I make that 2 indies in the Harris camp and 1 flipped republican most likely.

Hopefully it's a sign of things to come, but just remember in 2016 Hilary won it 4-0....
