They said they would scrap Rwanda day one. They did. The King’s Speech shows their intent. Budget measures erm, have to wait for the budget.

Even parents affected by the cap support the cap (bonkers as that may sound).Still I hope Starmer removes it, it's the right thing to do.

If you want to change the behaviour of the poor, punish them, but leave the behaviour of the rich well alone.

Dan Snow did an episode looking at the historical precedents that might shed some light ont he Democratic Presidential nomination process now Biden has dropped out. Might be a bit basic for some of you guys but I found it enlightening.

Mood music sounds a little like the Trump campaign is a bit scared of Harris? Fresh start, having to rip up the playbook and start again, and with their VP candidate spouting nonsense about diet Mountain Dew etc. are they a little on the back foot?

Can't believe the line of attack about her not having children either. Is that the sort of thing that lands in the USA - you've got no commitment to the future unless you've got kids?

It's pathetic isn't it.

I like that he's all butt hurt about spending money on attack ads.

Maybe echo chamber stuff, but some of the tweets that get fed into my feed from the US seem full of positive energy about her candidacy in a way that I didn't expect. Certainly changes the dynamic from being the "same old two" going after each other for 8 years.

Surely the no kids thing is a thinly veiled "A woman's place...." attack. The Christian Conservative right have a very weird view of women which really doesn't square with some of them standing for office.

Then again, when has hypocrisy ever stopped any of them?

@Nellers , yes. It's one of those things which probably appeals very strongly to the MAGA core, but which might be enough to alienate the wavering voters in the middle. (Although God knows how anyone can be a wavering voter as far as Trump is concerned).
