Fields
Fields- That's all very nice, but you sided with those very people by voting Leave. You may claim you were voting against a "neoliberal bloc" etc etc, but you sided with Farage, Johnson, Patel, Crispin Odey et al. You helped create the situation where the official opposition is too busy trying to placate fellow Leave voters to actually offer any alternatives.

Might as well say you sided with the Conservative Party by voting remain. Doesn’t actually address the issue and instead deflects things onto decisions made 7 years ago.

Labour needs to argue in the direction of progressive change. It seems to be too scared to do so (on multiple issues).

I think Starmer's starting position is scared. It seems why he won't change ULEZ, the barge, Brexit, the boats, etc, etc.

One of the reasons I want out of the UK is I see it as an opportunity to have a new constitution to get away from the corrupt and backwards Westminster system. A system where people are better represented.

In Scotland, we do have an alternative to the current status quo. In my view, this will never change through the ballot box and revolution is not on the cards.

Agree with all of that Fields. But short of revolution, how do we achieve that level of change? G

BBC reports that moves are afoot via Chris Bryant to get a rule that not showing up for 6 months puts an MP in contempt of parliament.

This is specifically aimed at Dorres.

It's not radical but it's a reform Labour are attempting to get through with out a revolution.

Doesn't all have to be heads on pikes does it.

I read last week that there's already a rule allowing them to do so, dating back about 200 years. Suppose it depends if it's still a rule/law in force or not.

Yes the old rule is something along the lines of "No member shall leave town without leave of the house" not really water tight law making is it?

A reform a Labour MP is trying to get through rather than Labour as a party and seems it may have cross party support. You'd think most MPs would support this.

It's pretty easy for Dorries to circumvent though, maybe she won't bother though.

The questions asked that were posed by the article still stand regardless of this.

Johnny Blaze
Who knew that a big Johnson/Brexit supporter would turn out to be so petty, vindictive and indifferent to her constituents? It’s almost like she puts her own interests before those of the people who elected her.

Name-calling will be called out, and Ad hominem will be frowned upon. :-) And whatabout-ery sits somewhere above responding to tone and below contradiction.
