As I’ve said before many times; there were opportunities to provide such a government in both 2017 and 2019 but the labour right refused to support their democratically elected leader.

BazoaxeThere is no contradiction, in my view. it simply points out the difficult position Labour is in.

It will be very interesting to see what happens in the GE. I can't imagine too much deviation from the UK manifesto or it's just too easy to point out the inconsistencies.

As did the electorate, Fields

But you do seem to be conceding that having a socialist government and being a member of the EU are not incompatible.

I would have to re-examine my thought process on an issue if I realised that my bedfellows consisted of Rees-Mogg, Farage, Johnson and the rest of that ghastly cast of goons. I'd maybe have thought that perhaps what I'm looking to achieve by doing this will actually deliver a worse outcome and the people and institutions I think are to blame for destroying society will be further enabled and emboldened to do their worst. Maybe.

I've said this as well. How could anyone align themselves with that crowd and think they weren't going to get screwed over is beyond me and to think that them 'winning' the referendum would lead to some sort of socialist reaction is absurd, it was obvious that it would only make them more popular.

Good for the Spanish for having success with their approach. The Greek experience would suggest that any member deviating too far from the prevailing neoliberal position will be swiftly dealt with by the dominant northern states

That’s another Leninist echo: “the worse it gets the better it gets”.

“It's the old "the worse, the better" ploy. In the pre-Bolshevik days, Vladimir Lenin supposedly said, “the worse, the better.” What he meant is that the worse things got, under the czar or during the chaos following the czar’s toppling, the greater the chance that ordinary Russians would turn to Lenin's brand of Marxist revolution.”

If only our country would utterly collapse, because it would herald the New Socialist Dawn. I’ll put a call into Malibu Rishi to see if he can finish the job.

It’s fundamentally a spiteful and vindictive philosophy that seeks to cause as much harm as possible.

I see Eddie Izzard is standing as a Labour candidate in Caroline Lucas’ old Brighton seat, she is stepping down.

She(Izzard) is bizarrely espousing Green credentials by standing against the Greens 😀

Name-calling will be called out, and Ad hominem will be frowned upon. :-) And whatabout-ery sits somewhere above responding to tone and below contradiction.
