Why 100 as a fatal blow? Well, if 30% of your parliamentary party don't think you're fit to govern, that's a pretty damning indictment to have to limp on through for the rest of the parliament. Their concerns with him aren't going away any time soon; it's less that they just plain old disagree with him on policy, more that they see him as a complete liability to their prospects in the future.

They know he won't change the way he goes about being in office, so there's nothing he can promise them that will given them renewed confidence that he can turn over a new leaf and run the Tory government they want to see.

Good points.
He will, however, continue to twist the constitution and raid the exchequer as he tries in vain to save his worthless hide - something that Jesse Norman's letter lays out in a devastating fashion.

More importantly, what about the wall paper?
a) Will he steam it, strip it and take it with him?
b) Refuse to move? (as per his last job?)
c) Sell it to the nation and recoup his money?

FWIW I think he will survive today but will be gone before long

Thanks for the link.

Even if Johnson wins by 1 vote he won't go.

He's so entitled he'll carry on not caring that he's dragging everyone down with him.

The moment America ditched Trump he should have realised the novelty act era was over.

Yes there's a high chance he'll technically survive, but surely not for long. The by-elections should then be a complete bloodbath which will be fun.

Is there any history of a PM surviving a vote of no confidence and carrying on for a reasonable length of time? I got the impression the vote notification is like getting the black spot from Blind Pugh 🏴‍☠️
