The provisional remain Twitter army vs the right wing Tory media on weights and measures is such a tedious news line you could be forgiven for thinking it’s peak August silly season

The funny thing about that chart, is that it's correct, and if anything only the tip of the iceberg, like temperature depends if it's hot or cold!

Jogging one did make me laugh and knew it would provoke a few remarks here. Personally I always worked in miles when I measured routes on g pedometer. Never used a gps but they obviously can bleep either metric or imperial.
Most road races in this country are not metric distances (HM and Mara being neither metric nor imperial certainly I can’t ever remember seeing KM markers during those events)

Oh dear. You need to cite your source for that bold statement. You know why.

If the 20% lead for Labour rings true for the by-election result then even Johnson is going to struggle with 'you need me to win the election' rhetoric..
He omits the words 'to fuck off' from the end of the sentence.

I'm chuckling about the distance thing. I've seen everything upwards of half marathon always marked in both km and miles. Oddly though the the end of half marathons always seem to have a countdown from 800m, 400m, 200m, 100m.....
But a bit of a worrying quote - I was looking for the bit in 184 where someone was complaining about beer in litres - a half wasn't enough, and a litre was too much. Instead I found this...
"Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbors, films, football, beer, and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult…. All that was required of them was a primitive patriotism which could be appealed to whenever it was necessary to make them accept longer working hours or shorter rations. And when they became discontented, as they sometimes did, their discontentment led nowhere, because being without general ideas, they could only focus it on petty specific grievances." 😳😢
