I run in miles for the majority, but occasionally set my watch to Ks if I’m doing 1K reps. When I do a parkrun I think of it as 3.1 miles, and when I’ve paced a parkrun, I’ve had my watch set to miles. When I race a 5K or 10K I may set my watch to Ks but for Halfs and Marathons it never enters my head to run in anything other than miles. On Zwift I’m set to Ks, but on my very rare outings on a bike in the real world, I’m in miles. I’ve ran a few marathons where there were only K markers and it fries my brain. Weird really.

Not much to argue with in that chart. For me, running is predominantly miles (though often revert to km/m to confuse things) and I weigh myself in kg mostly because 20+ years of measuring weights from 0.001g - 30+ tonnes in kg has removed stones from my brain! |

Perhaps big city races have markers at the 5k intervals - wouldn’t know I’ve never done any. It’s a while since I’ve run a road race anyway, the last time I did one I entered via a paper entry form and wrote out a cheque. |

That might be it, Fields. We've kind of gone digital for the most part.😉 In fairness, my one and only ultra was billed as being 100km, not 61 and a bit miles! Although I did pass the 100km marker about 300 yards before the finish! |

Lol Before fozzy points out, he does say "take with a pinch of salt", but that confidence on wednesday is conventional wisdom and they might have 190 votes. |

Apparently the deleted scenes of the Paddington / queen sketch have Priti Patel deporting the bear to Rwanda

Worth remembering Paddington arrived into a Britain that believed in welcoming the stranger and a time of kindness and genuine acceptance of the immigrant and refugee. Not a parallel universe, but Britain of 64 years ago.

Yes he’s a stowaway. Might have arrived on a dinghy, and maybe an allegory for Jewish children escaping Nazi Germany.
