Hmmm. As ever, please post sources.
I've looked for "some journos on Twitter being briefed by 'reliable sources'" and found none.
In the end, as I said at the time with TM, only Graham Brady knows how many letters have been recieved.
So I call BS on the journos being briefed by "reliable sources"

Well, it could be that there are caucuses at work. And if insiders in the caucus know what's happening in their caucus they may be in a position to know... Directionally anyway.

But I tend to agree with you. We will find out when the bunting is down, anyway.

They’ll be doing a phone-around to check if the letters are still valid. This seems to be accepted practice.
Of course nothing is certain but given the number and nature of public statements, I stand by my previous assessment that he’s toast.

"Well, it could be that there are caucuses at work"
Except in this case, we know there aren't - the opposition to Johnson is fragmented across the PCP, whereas with TM, it was definitely coming from the Brexit wingnuts and the opportunists end of the party.

?
The practise is that the letter of no confidence is valid when recieved by Graham Brady, and only revoked when he recieves a letter revoking the first.
As soon as they hit 15% of the PCP, the NCV is triggered.
Only Graham Brady knows how many letters he has.

Well, there are recognised groupings in the Tory Party - ERG, CRG, One Nation. If one or more of those moved against him en masse he would be in deep doodoo. But... We will find out soon enough. Parliament is nothing if not a rumour mill and some MPs might be expected to know more than others. Directionally.

Stop trolling me fozzy, I've got 2 journos, I can't be fucked to post them, they aren't that hard to find, if you actually bothered doing any research, and stopped mewling at people to do it for you.

Not trolling anyone. Too lazy to copy and paste 2 links. Ok. Check.
I couldn't find any journalists of note saying what you alleged.
So I say it's BS.
And I know I am correct in saying that really only Graham Brady knows how many letters he has. And despite many things I could say about his political positions and my disagreements with them, one thing he doesn't seem to do is leak.
Therefore BS.

And why can't I be bothered? I follow over 500 people on Twitter, it means I have to get my phone scroll back through half a day, 2 days worth of tweets and comments/replies to find a link to post, which you won't say thanks for, you will make some half derisive reply that accords with your confirmation bias. It has become your default position that you roll out against fields, against jb, against jda. Perhaps we should kitten you next after Zorba??
Yeah there's no guarantee there's 54, Tuesday could easily come and go next week without a thing, there's enough chatter to suggest there's something in it, but who knows
