I'd be interested to hear from TMW exactly how leaving the EU has helped England reach the final, and also how Italy managed to make it to the final despite the handicap of being in the EU.

And all those other EU countries that have won major competitions despite shackled to the tyrannical neo liberal/marxist cabal/syndicate that is the EU. I susect it's something to do with a military coup in France but don't quote me on that. |

Alternatively perhaps it was merely a lighthearted remark, which fozzy seemed to picked up - honestly most of this thread are permanently sucking on lemons.

Going back a few pages Bazo under what other circumstances would you (to your detriment) choose to ignore a signed contract in favour of what the other party "expects" from your perception anyway?

It is actually an interesting point. At one stage the 35 hrs was dropped and replaced by something that said I worked the hours to do the job. At the same time there was a contractual bonus introduced and so it was in my interests to work and hope for a bigger share of the bonus pot. In recent years the 35 hours has crept back in to the contract but there is still an unwritten understanding. The bonus has also changed by stealth and is now called variable pay and the circumstances in which its payable and how much are about as transparent as Brexit |

You don't view that as being more weighted to employers advantage than yours (and countless others that do similar) ? Have done it myself at periods in the past, but thankfully I reasonably quickly realised no matter how much I diluted my effective hourly rate there would always still be outstanding emails and other tasks. Rarely would I say bonus (when there was one) would it remotely cover the additional hours. Companies in the main are not going to say no to employees donating free hours to add to their profits. |
