Perhaps we shouldn’t be worried about app / if contracts going to AI companies that helped vote leave. After all Vote Leave did win and a large part of the success was to do with the social media targeting so that suggests to me they are good at what they do.

Unfortunately, "what they do" is so far limited to winning power and making large sums of money for themselves. If the Dim and Dom show had ever shown any ability to do anything concrete, I'd have more time for the view that he's some sort of eccentric genius. But so far everything they have touched turns to shit. |

Social Media targeting is different from developing an app. 100 mill for an app is ridiculous even if they were going to create a wearable app (like a fitbit watch)..... or I am jealous that they got away with being able to quote 100 mill. |

Erm don't think they quoted. There was no tender process. The contract was simply handed to the company. |

There was more than one company. Two contractors equally as odious, one being Peter Thiel, lunatic rightwinger and Paypal founder - Palantir (named after fucking Lord of the fucking Rings) and the other being Faculty being Dominic Cumming's company: businessinsider.nl And wasn't even the first contract for Faculty, it was the 7th! And if you want more reminders of why I despise Peter Thield, here's a good Guardian long read on the loathsome billionaires stockpiling for the Apocalypse (of which Thiel is one): theguardian.com |

This government telling the truth about anything would be headline news. They lie about everything. Latest is that they want to abolish trial by jury for all but the "most serious" cases instead going to a judge and 2 magistrates. Both the judiciary and magistrates are more likely than a jurist to be whiter and over 60. Which given BLM etc, is a staggering thing to do. The lie is that the backlog in cases (40,000+) has been caused by covid. It hasn't. The backlog existed before covid and is entirely down to Tory austerity cuts. See The Secret Barrister on twitter for more info. |

gov.uk What a load of shit. The tossers who voted for this to be imposed on our businesses should forever be ashamed of themselves. |
