You know how it is with these right wing "Political correctness gone mad" and "too much red-tape" types, jda? Equality laws don't include political views. They include philosophical views. In some cases it has required a trip to the ECHR to decree on whether views are political or philosophical. I'd love to see that happen, from either side, on whether there has been discrimination due to a person's views on Brexit. Unless its a religion, or course, you know the sort of thing, blindly and unquestionably following what's written in a book by some influential men who basically want you to do things in order to allow them to remain influential, but not have to justify why. |

Jda, political affiliation is also a personal category by which you are not allowed to discriminate in the workplace. I don't know if it's try in wider society but it's a protected characteristic at work. If I remember my equality training correctly. G

I know someone who changed from Remain to Leave. Bonkers really because they're planning on spending several months a year living in Europe and want to take their pets back and forth!

Apparently the Coronavirus pandemic is seen by the conservative right in the US as being a conspiracy made up by the "Deep State" as part of the plot to remove Trump from office/prevent him from being re-elected. politico.com (What was that about tribal lunacy by the zealots on the left that was posted earlier?) |

Surely no-one could try to argue that brexit was a philosophical belief that is worthy of respect in a democratic society? I mean, ok, it was a good joke for a few years, but the pastafarians and flat-earthers have a greater level of cogency, seriousness, cohesion and importance, let alone Jedi.

But that's an entirely different case - one thing is ascribing a belief/interest to someone based on their characteristics, the previous was ascribing a belief/interest to someone based on their stated belief.
