Remember when this lot told us we had to leave the EU because they didn't want unelected bureaucrats telling our politicians what to do?

It's no great surprise that Cummings / Johnson want to exercise control from the centre, but it does surprise me that that has come to a head so quickly. The cabinet was a bit of a holding position after the election, so a fair few restructures are to be expected, but losing your chancellor is not ideal - unless it was expected / anticipated anyway.

The worrying bit is the narrative which is establishing the real power broker as being cummings rather than Johnson (not a new narrative of course - but it does seem to be coming more true by the day). It's as if they watched The Thick of It and decided that they preferred that, rather than The West Wing, as a model of how to govern.

Winchester College, Oxford PPE, married to billionaire's daughter. Unusual background for a Tory MP ;-)

Cummings the Grand Vizier scares me. Talk of politicising the civil service and restricting the judicial oversight of government would lead to a significant weakening of our checks and balances. Then we'll see the alt-right agenda in all its horror :(

The knives will be out for him sooner or later. Probably sooner if he doesn't start to wind his neck in. Johnson is such a lazy bugger that

I daresay he sees Dom as his Grand Vizier - he'll do all the heavy lifting while Johnson mugs for the cameras and gets tugged by his girlfriends.
