The US can afford to take a populist/nationalist stance because they could but everything they currently import, locally. I spent a lot of years selling to Americans who by and large didn’t see why they ought to consider imported products (even if they were clearly better engineered, would last longer and were cheaper) over a good ‘ole American product.
Unfortunately, we don’t have that luxury (and UK buyers definitely don’t have that mindset).

True. I was only quoting. I'm sure there are worse, but in terms of a cocktail of all the worst character traits a human being can have, Trumpington is definitely Premier League.
Interesting that the World At One guy on the BBC is now saying that Javid resigned because Johnson "hadn't done his prep" as far as understanding what his Chancellor would think about having his team sacked.
Boris Johnson winging it? I never heard the like.

Agreed JB - I can’t think of many in my lifetime who I’ve found more objectionable. Saddam Hussein might be one...., and Netanyahu

It was the idea of a W W P that put Assad in mind. Close after came Omar Al-Bashir, former Sudanese president, and heading for the International Criminal Court to answer for genocide in Darfur.
Neither maintain or maintained anything like the same presence in world or social media terms as certain western leaders.

Whilst immensely harmful, stupid, chaotic and unprincipled, it is quite a stretch to go from Trump being appalling as the US president to being WWP. He could well fit the category of "Worst Person Who Was Likely And Able To Stand As President", but there is downright evil in other world leaders that even I couldn't ascribe to Trump. Maybe it's possible that he's not able to demonstrate that evil because of constraints within America which even he doesn't believe he can overcome, but there's some way to go before he can be on a part with genocidal dictators in current day or history.

Julian Smith had a surgery in Grassington Town Hall today.
Obviously got a lot more time on his hands now..
I didn't go in, because I couldn't trust myself not to get stuck into him about Brexit.

As influential as Trumps 4 (maybe 8) years will be, there's only so much impact he can have globally in terms of climate change. I wouldn't want to underplay it, and his impact will be more than just a minor blip, but there's a real risk that his influence is overstated. Think positive!!!

I’ll be astonished if it’s not 8 years tbh. Unless he shuffles off this mortal coil.
