Agree with the points that having lazy thinking is a slippery slope / easier for a populist to exploit. It is the human condition though, we have evolved to generalise. All big cats are dangerous and best avoided - doesn't need to be thought about. By the same token, our jungle optimised brains do similar tricks socially unless we are more thoughtful. Maybe civilsation is recognising we are more than the law of the jungle whilst accepting that is where we came from and it is our basic nature. |

On the racism thing, this morning on Radio 4 interview, a Chinese interviewee said that because customers staying away from china town in Liverpool (I think, I missed which city) because of the corona virus, they were being racist. Ridiculous. |
