We found a very nice house at a very nice price, but unfortunately it was less than 3 miles from Grimsby. I'd buy that house tomorrow. If it were somewhere else. |

It'll be fine... so long as it goes hand in hand with EU access to UK fishing zones Will be an interesting year as the trade-offs come into sharp focus. |

Ha! Apparently it's the free trade that's messed up the fishing industry in the town. Come Feb 1 they'll all be back out on the trawlers, you'll see! |

I bought a very nice house at a very nice price, less than 3 miles from Grimsby, Stander. It's in the catchment for an outstanding primary school and one of the top Grammar Schools in the country. There are buses every 15 minutes to both Grimsby and Cleethorpes, so we only need one car. I'm a mile from the Wolds AONB, 3 miles from the sea. 10 minutes drive or 35 minutes easy jog from work, and a pint can be had for less than £2. And if I want to get away I can be in Amsterdam city centre 90 mins door-to-door- including the time it takes to get the bus to the airport. Fish comes out of the water 2 miles away, potatoes and other veg come from the fields the other side of the road from. I'm far happier here than I ever was in my one bedroom flat above a shop in Sevenoaks losing two hours a day on my commute every day the privilege for which I paid several thousand pounds a year to stand on a crowded train, and still barely covering my costs on a pretty reasonable pay package. Still, quality of life is entirely subjective. One man's meat and all that. |

A mate of mine work at directorish level for the company who are responsible for redeveloping/finding companies to come to that site which is alongside York railway station - not sure he'd be allowed to say anything even if the House of Lairds was considering a move there but might just pick his brains to see if anything like that in the offing.
