LibDems did badly as well. I guess the majority of the voters want Brexit and I'm just going to have to suck it up. What a clusterfuck this country has become :-(

Swinson was hopeless, maybe losing her seat too.

DV, why though is this thread so out of tune with the electorate?

I just cant get my head around why people would vote for Boris in those numbers.

I feel sick. Johnson really couldn't have had better helpers than Corbyn and Swinson.

I do think FPTP suppresses “Potential” Lib Dem support for several reasons.

Many people may not want to vote Conservative but don’t want Corbyn more. If you’re a red/blue seat you know voting for Lib Dem is pointless.

Swinson is pretty bad though.

I'm genuinely dismayed by this and what the public is potentially doing to themselves.

Soz, mental arithmetic way out at this time of night. zp well in the lead at the moment.

Dio - I have a horrid feeling that people simply fell for the big lie that voting for "G** B***** D***" means it'll automatically happen, via some sort of magical realism. It's a triumph for Dominic Cummings and Lynton Crosby, if the exit poll is correct.

Lordy, I'd half-forgotten about Cummings - Rae and I might be looking for jobs in a year if he comes back as consigliere...

DV this thread reflects my experience out in the real world though. I think that perhaps reflects that Scotland is more progressive, open and inclusive than other parts of the union.

Name-calling will be called out, and Ad hominem will be frowned upon. :-) And whatabout-ery sits somewhere above responding to tone and below contradiction.
