How can working class people vote for Boris? That is wrong. If they believe they will be better off, that this country will be a better place under the Conservatives, they are wrong.
If they’ve watched Johnson and paid any attention to the campaign and still voted for them because they believe that the weak position negotiated will deliver Brexit, and that is all that matters, then they are not only wrong, but stupidly wrong.
So yes, the people can be stupid and wrong. It is also worth remembering that of all the votes cast, less than half will have been for the Conservatives.

I always feel great pity for Sunderland and Newcastle if the only way they can showcase themselves to the nation is by counting ballot papers quickly. It’s not a great source of civic pride.

McDonnell probably right that Brexit has been key issue and not much else has cut through, and Labours flip flop on Brexit hasn’t helped.

>why though is this thread so out of tune with the electorate?
Because people who use the internet are (on average) left of the electorate as a whole. The polling suggests nearly 75% of the over-70s planned to vote Conservative.

It’s not just Fetch where I see such a different view. I see it in my family spread around the country, I see it in my social media, my neighbours and friends here in a safe southern Tory seat. I see it at work. In all these area there is an overwhelming majority of contempt for Johnson and the Tory party.
Whatever you think of Corbyn, anyone but Johnson is the view. He is not fit to lead our country.

The inquests will start now, but top and bottom is Corbyn will have to go. The Corbyn "experiment" has gone the same way as the Michael Foot experiment. I "hope" Labour will move back to the centre but I ain't banking on it.
Meanwhile the Tories will whip the country to destruction and there won't be anyone to stop them.

Cerre - if that's the case (and assuming that a significant majority of under-30s voted non-Tory), it's certainly not going to bring the country together. There's going to be a hell of a lot of inter-generational strife...

DV it's really simple- this thread has a significantly higher IQ than general population, higher income without being billionaires, and more heart.
This is a bad result for Britain.
