TMW - the whole parliamentary CP is essentially ERG now - Grieve, Gauke, Hammond, Clarke are all gone. It's going to be Mark Francois x 368.

One ray of sunshine is that the odious Brexit party wont win any seats.

I've always thought that Boris could do just about anything and still have people eating out of his hand. Obviously one hoped for something different, but there was a certain inevitability about it.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Trump back in the White House either....

FR- I was thinking that earlier... and then thought "But UKIP/BXP have effectively taken over the Conservative party"...

Exactly Doogs, people didn’t need to vote Brexit party because the Conservatives are doing the same job.

Dooogs - I thought conservative candidates had to be in favour of Going through with Brexit and the deal, not be pure ERG.

You may be right however

Agree with TMW, and the FT was saying the same - a small Tory majority would give Bojo nowhere to turn and would have to continue appeasing the ERG.
A bigger majority means he could pivot.
There have been reports of a new cabinet in January without Leadsom, Mogg and some others of that ilk.
If he has to win, it’s probably better that he wins big.
Puts more pressure on my momentum too as a failed experiment.

I think if there had been anything other than Brexit as the leading issue for so many people, that there's no way so many would vote Conservative.

If the exit polls are correct then it's almost as clear as having a second referendum isn't it?

I feel sick with worry.

Tmw - I have a prediction on the sidebar. 38 seat Tory majority, so I wasn’t embarrassingly wrong. But hard to see how ZP hasn’t got this

Pound is strongly up, the currency pair I am most interested in is at its highest it’s been in over a year.

Which is nice.
