There was never a realistic question of taking up Bonson's offer of ramming through the WA in a few days followed by an election. But Labour have no reasonable excuse for opposing the LibDem proposal (or the govt's equivalent if they propose something virtually identical).

Labour - in trying to be all things to all men, are actually ending up as being nothing to nobody.

For once I'm not going to even try to find anything to criticise in Stander's post. "Taking no deal off the table" in the current circumstances is vacuous sloganeering.

Ok, I think Corbyn has a plan and is sticking to it.

Unless something is in law, and then Boris may try and break it, why not wait until everything is enshrined legally.

The tactic of proving beyond doubt that Boris and his cronies are untrustworthy has got to have some mileage?

...and if Corbyn is right that Boris and his cronies have pissed down the drain over £100 million on the advertising for an exit on 31st October, that is scandalous.

But on the other hand, that £100 million is bound to have been trousered by his mates, so fully understandable #not

But there really isn't a credible way to get no deal off the table permanently. Well, it would take something like a general version of the Benn act that kicked in three weeks before every exit date. And even then it could be repealed by a future Tory govt if they had a majority. It's complete nonsense to make up something like this as a last-minute excuse to duck a GE after he's spent the last 3 years demanding one at every opportunity.

Get past 31st October and if a GE isn't called then, I will agree. But until then I don't trust Boris.

I don't understand your point. Brexit day is 31 Jan 2020. 31 Oct is Halloween.

Boris is King of the dodgy wheezies. Until we get to the 1st November I won't believe he can't engineer some technicality.
