I wonder whether these outraged readers are equally outraged when, for example, a political party campaigns in a General Election on policies completely different from the ones of the current government? There really was something sacred and mystical about that vote in June 2016, wasn't there, such that it must outweigh any other votes before or since.

Luxembourg definitely overmilked this, but chickenBoris needs to understand if he dishes it out (JFC anyone?) He's got to be able to take it. Just because of a few hecklers. Crikey Harold Wilson made a virtue of hecklers. Today's crop of politicians, are thin skinned, humourless and unable to think on their feet.

This Supreme Court thing is like having an extra test match. We need TMS to commentate "Well welcome to the Supreme Court on a quite glorious day. The Government has won the toss and elected to bat. Gina Millar will open the bowling from the Pavillion end and Jacob Rees Mogg is on strike. Kwasi Kwarteng is the non striker. Miller runs in over the wicket. She bowls. Rees Mogg comes forward HE's STRUCK ON THE PAD, THERE'S A HUGE APPEAL, John Major behind the stumps is appealing, all the slips went up too. AND HE'S OUT. Lady Hales raises the finger, Rees Mogg goes to chat to Kwarteng but he can't review surely, that would be to the European Court and we all know what they'd say. No he's out walking off. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Well what a start eh Tuffers" |

Guardian did an article on tactical voting I see again: theguardian.com Last night, I did a comparison of Cornish constituencies opinion polls, it is very important here. There are 6 Tory constituencies. 2017, Labour narrowly missed out on Truro/Falmouth and Camborne. Lib Dems have now surged in polls here and are ahead in St Ives and North Cornwall. Given that SE Cornwall (my constituency) and Newquay are safe, the choice is do we want to risk returning 6 more Tories or do tactical voting (a pact would be better). LibDems stand down in Truro/Falmouth and Camborne and Labour stand down in North Cornwall and St Ives. It would mean a good chance of taking 4 seats, instead of 2. Tories losing 4 seats in Cornwall alone would mean their chances of an overall majority would be virtually none. The figures are here. cornwalllive.com Ok opinion polls aren't to be trusted too strongly, but that is broadly the lie of the land. |

Lol -fellrunning (Forgot to mention Lib Dems surge means Labour now someway behind in Truro/Falmouth and Camborne and the vote is now split) |

Not entirely sure how the Grauniad has come up with the constituencies to be highlighted on that map, as my own is on there which is a Lab majority of about 4000 votes to the Tories (a gain at the last election). Not inconceivable that that might swing back, but I would be surprised given how well thought of the current MP is. He's not a "People's Vote" advocate (though he is Remainer at heart), which makes it even more peculiar that it's appeared on that chart.
