My PF comes and goes at seemingly random intervals. One thing I find helps is sitting with my feet resting on a vibrating foam roller on a low-ish setting. Not sure if there's any actual therapeutic effect, or if it's just placebo, but it does seem to help. |

Back in (I think) 2006 I had PF that resulted in tears. Can’t remember which foot though! @Velociraptor suggested a cortisone injection and it’s been fine since. I’ve noticed a couple of times lately that my left plantar is iffy. Not the typical pain on waking etc but definitely there. My thinking is it’s on its way try and stop it now! I really don’t want to stop running or walking! I’m wondering if it’s one of my pairs of runners getting old and will get new ones but what else? Is it just calf stretches and Heel raises at this point? No need for drugs as it’s just a distinct awareness Ta |

I do everything intermittently on my left PF to try to keep it at bay - roller it, knuckle massage it heat cream it, vary trainers, barefoot, avoid problem shoes (for me certain wellies or boots) etc. Hope you can keep it under control. G

I feel it, but rarely stops me running or feels more than 1-2 out of 10 pain. So yes, mostly working! G

Injury first reported 10:51am, 5th Dec 2011 3 Severity updated to '3 - unable to train and interferes with life' 10:52am, 5th Dec 2011 3 Left foot only. 10:53am, 5th Dec 2011 3 10 Jan. OK, not run since 1 Dec (bar a couple of trial runs) and it's still bad. Worse even maybe. After 2 weeks total rest for NZ wedding trip no gym. So I've bought an arch support, I'm going to do hot and cold therapy, I'll run with different shoes and lots of stretch and massage and see if I can gently resume training. Fingers crossed. :-)G 7:58am, 10th Jan 2012 3 OK, I'm chainging to 2 - limits my training as I've done 3, 4 and 6 mile runs this week, albeit slowly. Lots of heat/cold therarapy, ibuprofen gel, massage on base of foot, calf and achlles stretches and Mueller PF arch support when running and in work shoes, hoping it's all going to get better as I build mileage back up. :-)G 5:13pm, 15th Jan 2012 2 Severity updated to '2 - limits my training' So 13 years ago, took about 6 weeks to "sort". Since then been under management. Successfully! G |

Do I log this as new or re-open old. I'll go for re-open, for continuity! It's left plantar, after Friday run, felt it in shoes / slippers in house. It's so weird, at one time tender to touch like quite a severe bruise, but then did hedgehog and heat cream and ice and knuckle rubs and at other times no pain at all. Anyway, no run at weekend, some enforced rest with C, G n J visiting and not wearing slippers. Could it have been that day in the hiking boots at Falkirk for national XC? Who knows. Blooming PF! G 11:38am, 14th Mar 2022 3 Severity updated to 3 11:39am, 14th Mar 2022 1 Severity updated to 1 1:49pm, 24th Mar 2022 1 I'll just straight to 1 as I'm running normally again after a week off when kids were here and now 2 gentle runs. G 1:50pm, 24th Mar 2022 1 Leave as a 1 because I'm still feeling it, esp in slippers in the house. Felt it a bit in the Inov8 Xtalon newer ones. Hope they're not part of the problem cos I want to do 1000 miles in them! G 2:05pm, 7th Apr 2022 1 Still a 1. Def still twinging in slippers and some boots or shoes. G 8:22am, 6th May 2022 1 Annoying me today. Doesn't stop training, but it's annoying in the house. Can't wear my slipper boots, they aggravate it. Hmm. So it does periodically come back and then go. For me! G |

Having had the tears experience I’m keen not to return! What I’ve found is that is not enough to interfere or limp but I can feel it I felt it in the last 2 of 8 speedwork reps yesterday and a bit on todays slow walk Not had the morning agony though so I’m hoping it’s early |
