York was on, with cones showing the icy patches and a slight route change to avoid the worst of it - nice day for a run.

An odd one at Edinburgh today. One of the early finishers (about 5th) crossed the line and started to walk down the funnel before turning back and asking the backup timer what his time was meanwhile the next finisher had gone ahead in the funnel. The guy asked 2 or 3 times before the funnel manager moved him along and hopefully into the right token position !
It was a bit distracting to me and I assume the backup timer but luckily there werent many finishers at that point. I am not sure if the backup timer actually has times or not. Certainly the main timerdidnt show actual time but you could work it out

Ah the benefits of being at the seaside :)-. Rain then freeze/thaw conditions have made pretty much anywhere that isn't heavily trafficked (or gritted) sheets of ice round here. My mate was going to run his 100th today and is unlikely to get another chance this year, due to work (even Christmas Day). Bah!

We went ahead in Cheltenham but we had to cone off one patch of sheet ice across the path, and by the time we'd done a lap or two some parts were getting a bit slippy. It made me think I really *need* new shoes as the tread on my current ones are a bit too worn down and I could feel the lack of traction.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I had to call off Elgin today, after being convinced it would go ahead up to the point I nearly fell on my @rse. Only one really bad area, but it is the worst part of the course to have ice!

We are lucky down in the South West, no call offs due to snow or ice. I know Yeovil was cancelled but I think that was due to rain and the need to protect the park, so it was nice and sunny at Seaton, though slow for me as I was working off a Christmas party hangover....

We had Event #250 at Wimpole on Saturday. I was the last finisher in 1:01:51. I started just as the first finisher was crossing the line. Nice way to start the weekend.

Just when I'm about to finally run my hundredth...
parkrun announce they've run out of t-shirts and disabled the links to allow Wiggle ordering, with the new system to be in place in Feb.
Announced on the parkrun facebook page.

I ran my 50th on 2nd December. I have to admit not even having checked, as I hadn't seen anything about the new system, and assumed that MW would be a common size and therefore out of stock.
