@alehouse hopefully it is as TS says as everything is getting used to working a bit harder than they have recently been used. So much progress though from when I first joined this thread. @NZD safe travels! @Torque Steer do you like to live dangerously? Test your knee to destruction! Hope all goes well tomorrow. @EarlyRiser sounds like a good plan. A great sight to view I can imagine. Living where I do there are pheasants and partridges everywhere at this time of year having been released for the shoots. Sadly they are doomed for a short life, either being shot or road kill. Longest run for quite some time for me today bringing this week's total a smidgen over 50 miles. Much cooler weather but pretty good running conditions and 16 hilly miles done. Thankfully endurance doesn't seem to have disappeared and HR / pace not too bad all things considered. |

Remind us where you live easyrider- obviously somewhere with no parkruns. Nice miles solo- I had a similar long run around Keswick. I tend to do long runs all year WP so when I step up to a marathon campaign it's not such a stretch. The next one should be London 25, training starts after Christmas. Plenty of pheasants in Keswick too. Lots of migrating geese and a cute Robin joined us for our packed lunch on hills on Friday. |

@OO61 Estepona at the bottom end of Spain. I look out at Gibraltar and the Moroccan coastline. No parkruns! We moved here a couple of years ago. Before then in the UK I ran parkruns in my on years of on-off running. I must have one of the longest durations to collect my 50 runs shirt. About 12 years in the doing!

That sounds lovely @easyrider easyrider , hope you missed the worst of the rain. We lived in Barcelona for a couple of years in the 90s and went back for a short holiday recently- Sunday to Friday, so no parkruns missed. I'll reach 500 over Christmas 😇

@Welshpoppy good return to near normality for you @easyrider - sounds awful Is there a parkrun in Gibraltar? @OO61 I think I may have done 5 parkruns - all local Another nice long run to round the week off. @Solo - and ditto on your long run 'Tis the year of living dangerously for me Some progress I hope this morning. A new senior physio and overseen briefly by consultant. Major testing of my strength and core stability - single leg press gave out at 120kg on both legs so ok although not quite where it should be in relation to my body weight!! Left glute needs some work as it has deteriorated with the body trying to restrict load on that side so more intensive work needed on that side along with all the other exercises. Basically arthritis and no other observable damage so its all about reducing load (losing more weight!) and making the leg as efficient as possible to transferring load - run when I can, stop if it hurts, which is what I do. Kept pushing pain medication, I kept pushing back on that. Wordle in two today and three yesterday |

Sadly yesterday and today no run days as virus on chest! but will go to PT session. Wordle in Three for past 4 days! I like you pushing meds back at them! Hope the knee responds to the exercises and reduce load. |

@Welshpoppy Oh dear, you have had more than your share of colds lately. Reasonably positive news @Torque Steer. Losing weight will have more benefits than just for the knees. Easier said than done of course, especially when the knee makes getting exercise difficult. Worth trying a one-off steroid injection? @Canute, 916 b/km is a good improvement on your earlier figure of 1068 around the start of Sept and mid-900's just two weeks ago. Well done. @EarlyRiser, sounds idyllic. A permanent move or just for several years? Latitude of Estepona is almost identical to where I live (except for a negative sign in my case!). Alas, no similarity in terms of climate 🙁. @OO61, impressive long run following an impressive parkrun effort. @Solo, also impressive long running. Please to hear your endurance has held up. Flat out work-wise atm. Now less than 3 days before heading out to Japan. Have kept running rolling over. Slowish 8.3 km runs Tuesday and yesterday but falling short in the long run department. Legs & especially hamstrings still not happy either :(. Aiming to squeeze in another 8 tomorrow. Hopefully today off will help the legs ... 🤞 |

@Solo and @OO61 good longish running. @EarlyRiser the vistas across the Med sound interesting @alehouse I hope the recent hamstring issue has settled @Torque Steer that sounds like reasonable progress and reason for optimism regarding the future @Welshpoppy I hope the respiratory problem settles quickly @NZD it is good that you are keeping the legs ticking over despite a demanding work schedule. I am pleased that my b/km has been gradually improving. Today for the first time I increased effort into the moderate range (Z3, average HR 132). Terrain was variable. In the final section on easy terrain I managed a pace of 6:43 min/km and 907 b/km. Still a long way short of where I was early in the year, but it felt satisfying to be stretching my legs a bit. |

Enjoy Japan NZD, somewhere I'd like to go back to. Indeed Canute, that's good steady progress, which is all we can ask for 🙏 |

Further good progress and great that your knees still seem to be coping well @Canute. With faster & longer runs, fitness improvements will continue to come. Thanks @OO61. All work but a change of scene and a chance for real facetime with colleagues there and from London (who will also be in Tokyo next week). |
