My 16th Sept flu jab's been booked for a while, but have heard nothing yet about a Covid jab - I'm apparently eligible through being bloody old, despite being firmly of the opinion that I am 29.

I got a text from the surgery inviting me to book a covid jab but saying if I wanted to wait, joint flu and covid jab clinics would be booking soon. I got the text about the joint clinic the next morning. OH has had neither text even though he's a few months older than me. Maybe I'm deemed to be more vulnerable because I take BP medication?

I haven’t heard anything from my practice yet, I dare say I will get an invite soon, I will have them, especially as I have foreign travel arrangements for December but might not rush.

I’m old enough to have been given my flu jab earlier this week, but no longer appear to be sick enough to make the cut for the covid jab this year :-)

Who remembers the post office queues on the last Saturday of each month as people queued up to renew their car tax? You don’t get that any more. There aren’t many post offices left anyway, not proper ones.

I do. I once had to tax my car on Unst in the Shetlands before driving home on leave.

I don’t remember that, and I was taught by dinosaurs.

Despite what the Express tells you, things do change for the better.
