The Pin Lady
Sign of getting old when you have to photocopy client records onto A3 paper so you have a chance of being able to read it even with your varifocals!

LOL. Iโ€™m thinking about getting a selfie-stick just so I can read my phone! :)

Sigh
We have been issued with a new Word template for letters at work. I spent an hour reformatting it, so when I put a printed letter in a foolscap envelope, the recipients address is correctly displayed (and nothing else).

I have a spare pair of reading glasses in my running vest so that I can read the map/fetchpoint/wsw on my phone when I'm out - selfie stick might work too ...

Lol Sigh, it seems that every letter I get in a window envelope has been folded in a horrible way to meet those requirements.

In the olden days when there were people known as โ€œtypistsโ€ who did your letters for you it was easy ๐Ÿ˜‚

When we got our first PCs (windows 3.1 anyone) the last person with typing skills taught me how to fold letters so that they fit perfectly and neatly into window envelopes - one of the best skills I ever learned. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

In the olden days I was one of those 'typists' and one of my early letter producing skills. My first full time paid job we even had a printing press for printing auction catalogues... I am not THAT old btw they definitely had kept it from the old days or bought it themselves in an auction haha.

I had my eye test a couple of weeks ago and had a little rant at the opticians that since they gave me varifocals 2 years ago my eyesight has declined rapidly. I can still read perfectly (almost) well with my old non vari glasses. So he did the eye test, we were going through the lenses to see which worked:

me - oh yes these are good much clearer
him - try these
me - nope first ones definitely better
him - good, these are a slightly stronger lens
me - see I told you these vari things are making my eyes deteriorate. Can I just have them as single lens as I don't like the varifocals the distance is clearer without them
him - yes you can but you will have to take them off to walk about, speak to someone

me - but my older glasses I can do both ok
him - as he puts light on - look up at the wall and see if you can read the top line
me - ohhh I cant see the top line
him - yes that's why you need varifocals

That was a week before I was 50 I am officially old.
