Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yes that works Rosehip. £9.00 shipping !

I was hoping to find something of a softer material that will flatten under my wetsuit. I've an idea of something made out of the same stuff and swim buoys . I've yet to find anything.

In other news after my usual swim on Sunday morning , I swam skins with a running group who don't really swim . It was sort of an introduction by a friend and I joined them . One had a waterproof go pro. I remember him saying , did you see that Jelly fish behind you but I hadn't noticed anything. I know they freak a lot of the swimmers in our pods out but I'm kinda Ok with them. I'll see if i can upload the photo

Excellent photo catch :)
I've twice been stung by jelly fish, so whilst they're amazing things to watch I'd rather not be swimming with them!

I am thinking of also swimming at Mersea Island and I know there are jelly fish there annually. That is the one thing that has always put me off.... perhaps time to face that fear too!

I have only ordered one piece of kit so far, phone case, but what would you all say as a beginner is a must?

Wetsuit so you can continue to swim as the water cools this autumn.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
