The torch bearer seems to have better weather than everyone else.

Obviously the rain doesn't help and it feels a bit messy. However I find the fact it is all real rather than CGI and big video screens rather refreshing.

What is going on? It feels really disjointed. The interspersing of video inside the buildings with the live action isn’t working for me

This really underwhelming..... and I'd be really pissed off if I was an athlete stuck out in the rain on the Seine

I like that they’ve broken up the parade of nations, but there’s less opportunity to critique outfits and spot athletes

Agreed eL Bee!, they’re not getting the grand entrance into the stadium with all the cheering

Corralling the athletes into barges where they can't lurch up to the nearest camera and pull faces seems like an improvement on London. I'm quite enjoying the cityscapes.

About This Thread

Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
