When he ran past Wilde, there was no real hint that W had any sort of acceleration left. I know what that feels like (only much, much slower).

Wilde had nothing

I thought before Yee moved he was tiring but Yee just blew past him

I never for a moment thought Yee would quit and catching Wilde did not surprise me at all :-)

Having the guts to let your opponent build up a 15 second lead is pretty impressive. Yee must have known he couldn’t go with the move but also known there was time left to pull back the gap later.

I did think he would make his move sooner but it was timed to perfection as Wilde couldn’t respond.

What a race. Just realised we are in Paris for the tri relay as well 😎

Good of Wilde to go and hug Yee at the end as well. Must of been heartbreaking for him.

I think he was going through a rough patch but also Wilde must have completely blown up. He was dead on his feet when Yee went past and wasn’t so far clear of third by the end.

They often say that winning gives you a boost of energy and you see that in so many celebrations, but once Yee crossed the line he was just done. He'd given it everything he'd got!

About This Thread

Maintained by Curly45
Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
