Saw a snake on one of my commonest running routes. Probably a grass snake, but it was moving fast and caught me totally by surprise. Only the second snake I've seen in Surrey.

I saw a grass snake about 5 years ago. Bloody scary even though it was pretty harmless - on my bit of the NDW
Not seen one since

I once saw an enormous snake in Italy. Memory (probably deceiving me) says its body was at least 8" in diameter and curled up so I have little idea of how long it was, but enormous anyway. That scared me.

Adders are common round here. I used to keep a Piriton tablet in my pocket to give the dog as first aid in case she got bitten but have stopped doing that for some reason. I must get some more.
