I'm not sure I've managed any newts. I've had visitors and have been showing them some of our favourite walks/eateries/playparks. Lots of newts for them -does that count?

I think my only Newt for yesterday was watching a new-to-me documentary (it's not actually new at all!) - Dreams of a Life. It was very good, but more than a little bit unsettling.

You'd never shown them those places before HP, so that was newt to you and different from your norm.

Good point .B.
Mine was a slightly inactive one - though I did have to engage my brain and critical faculties. We watched Saturday Night Fever, Raffo's recommendation. Frothy and feel good it ain't.

Today's newt is cuddling a 12 year old. Not done that for over 3 years. Then we're going to another newt gallery, the modern art one. I quite like gloomy old goldy paintings but ds2 doesn't. The best thing we saw yesterday were the pictures at the City Gallery, there was a beautiful linocut and the most gorgeous pastel confection you've ever seen, a dreamy light-spangled view of Edinburgh. Ds2 liked it too even though it was quite abstract.

I've done a couple of newt-to-me investment-type things yesterday and today.

Rosehip
My newt was running up a hill
People who don't live in these flatlands wouldn't call it a hill - and I have run up it without walking before - just not managed it for at least a year. Doing so made me happy, so I'm claiming it

Alice the Camel
What a gorgeous morning.
We were passed by a group of about a dozen noisy motorbikes down the lane this morning, "scramblers". They slowed as they went past and every single one of them either raised a hand or shouted thank you. Charlie sat on the grass verge with an air of aloofness, totally unfazed by the noise or the large cloud of dust they created. Good boy!

I got coffee from a new shop today, a little Portuguese cafe. Luckily they weren't selling those lovely custard tarts so I didn't consume more calories than I walked. Only £1.60 which is insanely cheap for these parts!
