I saw a yellow butterfly whilst out walking the dog this morning.

I've been for a look round the newly-taken-over garden centre which seems to have split opinion amongst the regulars (I quite liked the makeover, it was looking decidedly neglected a few months ago).

Called in at a new pub on the way home. It's not actually a new pub, it's obviously been there for years if not centuries, but new to me.

We have new neighbours today but I've not seen them yet. Our lovely but quite frail elderly neighbours left this morning for Norfolk to be near their son :-(

I had a sweet chilli chicken and spiralized veg salad. It had kale and edamame beans in it too which makes it extra healthy I suspect. It was nice but I was still hungry when I had finished. I also attended a type of meeting I have never before - I don't think I'll be in any great rush to attend again.

I have just had to help make a temporary repair on a school minibus broken window - one of the children put a rock through it :-o

I've never been called upon to do that before, luckily as it happened at the stables there were plenty of things about to be utilised to make the repair such as brooms and shovels to sweep up all the broken glass and empty feed bags to fasten to the broken window. I should think the school is quite pleased that the Easter holidays are about to start.......

I had new cake with a Fetchie I have met many times. It's a newt because we have never managed to eat cake together before.

And it was raspberry and polenta, for anyone who doesn't hang around the 700 thread.

A dearth of newts here. I did see my first bluebells of the year yesterday. No butterflies yet.

Raspberry and polenta sounds interesting!

I'm awarding yesterday's Newt of the Day to Baroness for mending the school bus window. As well as being unusual it is, in my eyes, quite an act of heroism. BBL to the rescue!

MrAtC and I have done something new. We've booked a long winter holiday for January/February next year. You know how when you're young and tied to work and it's raining and cold every day in the winter and you say "When we retire we're going abroad for winter...", well we're doing it. Taking Charlie with us, of course. But not Mini, much to her disgust.

That's brilliant, Alice! I'm quite, quite envious. eL Bee! and I expect to be doing the same before long.

A few more work-related newts for me today, but nothing I'd have chosen to do for pleasure. The day isn't over yet, though :)
