I'm not worthy, halfpint! In the end I posted on 'what are u drinking?' which was a bit half hearted I felt.
However, to earn my Newtmeister of the Day I've started a new thread, rather than just posted on one.

I bought some new cushions for our lounge room. They're sort of reddish pink. The cushions in there are quite battered and abused after many years of children putting dirty fingers on them and using them in pillow fights. I also bought 2 new alarm clocks, one for each kid. Ds1 desperately needs one which isn't me nagging him up the stairs, and ds2's clock broke and anyway was very annoying as it had The World's Loudest Tick (3 doors away, you could hear it!)

I bought a £90 jacket for £20 effectively - it was £40 in the sale and I had a £20 gift token. I also bought some new socks and threw some old ones with a hole in the heel away.

It has never occurred to me before today to organise my wardrobe in terms of categories of clothes (trousers, short sleeve tops, long sleeve tops, dresses, cardigans, etc.), I've just done it and I'm quite chuffed with myself

I wore a newt skirt to work today. I actually bought it while I was out shopping for jeans* as there are literally none that are not too skinny and/or have holes or weird hems! My new skirt is comfortable and also practical as it has pockets.
* the jeans situation is so bad I think it deserves its own blog...

I was unexpectedly given a home-cooked traditional Pakistani meal for my lunch today, which is an absolute newt for me. Visitors are from the Angels I was told and therefore must be looked after. Amazing hospitality from a couple who have never met me before and the wife has only been in England a couple of months.... really lovely. The food was tasty too - a little spicy but very nice and a pudding that I thought would be hot, but once I got over the surprise of it being cold was lovely as well Good job I hadn't had time for lunch before I went round there
