Yazoo
Just checked the website and saw that my name finally appears in their database - all very exciting. Also just back from a half marathon in Budapest which was great and got me looking forward to racing again. Next big one is NY...

OK...it's been WAY too quiet here. You all must be getting excited by now? Less than 50 days to go!! The weather is getting nicer! Soon the banners will go up in the City, and the buzz of the marathon will be all over NYC...How's everyone's training been going? I had a wonderful half marathon in Philly on Sunday, knocking 2 full minutes off my prior best to establish a new PB at 1:30. Looking forward to the rest of the training.

On a dropback before my final really long runs of 20 miles, then a MP warm up at GER and finally tapering before the BIG day! Looking good for a sun 5hr time now.

Like CM, it's still a bit unreal, think it will become more so when more paperwork/handbooks etc start arriving.

The whole family is very excited ( esp LMG) about coming to NY! LMG's class Teddy Bear( Barnaby) will be coming as well, he likes to travel and take photos for the children to see where he has been!

I think the transition from "unreal" to "real" will make it all the more exciting for you all. Following receipt of the Handbook, I think the next "milestone" to look forward to will be the issuing of bib numbers and start area (blue, orange, or green). That's usually sometime in October. Till then, continued good luck with the training!

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say was, you can look up your bib number on the web site. You will pick up your actual bib at the expo.

I think NYC also offers "athlete alert" where you can enter up to 3 emails to which they will automatically send text/email as you cross each chip mat (at 5K, 10K, halfway, 20 mile, and the finish, based on my recollection)
