I move my grid constantly, not that I want to get found or anything *ducks back under cover*

I wouldn't say it was cheating

I never move mine, but that’s because I’m too lazy. If the game allows it, it’s not cheating.

I moved mine when I was a seeker because I can't cover many miles so when I did the same lap of the village, wanted to cover a different part of the grid. It's not cheating, it's playing strategically.

Well, that is very odd. I went to move my grid and found that it was exactly where I thought it was and this morning's run would've taken in the bottom edge of the grid. However, the run as uploaded is shifted to the north and east.

Going for a walk now. Lets see where this takes me.

Ah yes, it's a little tricky, you set it where you want it but it moves slightly so you have to check your seeker grid to see if you've got it where you want it. I like to do it on 2 screens so set it on my phone and check it on my laptop

Found one (sorry Gooner) but again, the route logged in the seeking blog does not align with the grid on my settings. I think I will ask Fetch if he can explain.

I think it's deliberate Diogenes don't want to make it too easy, fairly certain I've seen comments about it previously

When you move your grid, you don't see the exact same resolution as on your seek tab. The home point is the same but then it's scaled upwards, i.e. a square on the edge of the grid on the 'move your grid' page is no longer on the edge on the final grid. I just checked my grid in both views and the grid's edge on 'move your homepoint' seems to be moved about 400-500 m further out in all directions on the 'hide' and 'seek' grids.

I see, it's not just me then. I've never noticed it when seeking in my usual home zone. If I plan a route going through a particular square then it usually matches up

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
Here's the barebones of the new game:

fetcheveryone.com/hideandseek.php

How it works
The game generates a big three mile square with you at the centre. The square is cut into a grid of 1600 smaller squares.

During any given, unlock as many squares from your grid as possible (C19 permitting) by visiting them during your training. These are the places where you can 'hide'. Before the month is up, you must choose one of these squares as your hiding place.

When the first game kicks off (1st of the month), a lone seeker must start finding people, by visiting the squares. When someone is found, they become a seeker too. The seekers can then collaborate to flush out the hiders, and a growing army of seekers hunt down the final hiders.

The last person to be found will become the seeker for the following month.

IMPORTANT
I am still building the game. Keep following this thread for updates as I make them.
